About
Goal
My goal of music lessons is to use my experience to create a source of strengthening musical interest and sparking artistic development. I believe that learning music has a variety of benefits including improvements of: academics, motor skills, discipline, emotional balance, and many more. These aspects can be applicable to all ages and skill levels. I hope to create a flexible space where all musical approaches are welcome and any challenges can be undertaken. Music is a crucial part of my lifestyle, and I hope to share this interest with a bigger community!
Introduction
Hi - my name is Sophia Flagg and I have been a musician for most of my life. I am a pianist and cellist and I have experience teaching students ages 3-14. Accomplishments contributing to my musical skills include winning top awards from international, national, and local competitions. Some of these include the International Anton Rubinstein Competition 2022, US International Open Music Competition, ENKOR, and many more. Outside of the US, I have performed and studied music with professional musicians in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Estonia, and Latvia. Notable solo concerts include the Beethoven-Haus concert hall in Bonn, Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, and Franz Liszt University in Weimar. This has given me diverse knowledge about performance and musicality. Outside of music, I have volunteered around the community, in particular, at school events and concerts, providing me with experience for a wide range of age groups.
